The classic young people's version of The Desire of Ages.
"What happened to your hand?" the child asks as she touches the soft, warm hand of Jesus.
"This is the scar left from the nail when I died for you." Jesus smiles and gently closes his fingers around her hand.
"Why did you die for me?"
"Because I love you," Jesus says as they turn and walk down the quiet path holding hands.
For the girl the truth is simple: "Jesus love me this I know." If we ask her how she knows, the answer come back to us with a joyful ring in her voice, "Look at His hand; He died for me!"
There in the palms of His hands is the everlasting sign of God's love for each one of us. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." The love that Jesus has for each of us, to give us hope, and the assurance of life everlasting is summed up by the nail scars in His hands.
Jesus came from heaven, a place so far and distant that we cannot even begin to understand its glory, beauty, and purity. Laying aside His robes as King of the universe, He accepted the humble garment of a man and lived as you and I must live. It is this life that this book shares—the story of Jesus, Christ our Savior. Herein is presented The Desire of Ages, in a way that young and young-at-heart alike will be blessed as the story of Christ's life for us is unfolded.
