    Pros:
    • price
    • accuracy
    • dramatization
    Cons:
Before I got this Bible recording I used to listen to James Earl Jones reading the New Testament. It was amazing how much clearer the Word became when I heard it read to me. Then when I got the Word of Promise recorded Bible, I discovered that it is even better when the different parts are read by different people. It is a great experience to hear the NKJV dramatically presented word for word. Don’t be put off by the somewhat intrusive sound effects in the sample from Jonah. The other books have minimal or more subdued sound effects plus nice background music (not distracting) that sets a mood for the particular reading. This is an excellent resource with high production values and quality control in the accuracy of the text. The only minor drawback is when you recognize the voice of an actor you associate with a role that he has performed in the past, it can take a while to disassociate the voice from the prior role. I have this on my iPod and can listen through my car radio during my daily commute and on road trips. (It takes a little over 6 GB of space.) The files are named so that iTunes puts them in the correct order.
